Ford Focus Diesel TDCI Cold Start read description please., Cold starting my Focus TDCI .
From a temperature range of 0 to +5º Celsius the car fires and stalls.
To show you the problem I have done a cold start at the temperature range the car is worst at, and to aggravate the fault, not waited for glow plugs.
Car is a 2003 on original battery, new glow plugs, fuel filter with 112K Miles on the clock. New Cam sensor fitted 3 years ago. EGR is bypassed.
4 years later -
I have had the starter apart today as the cranking has become very slow despite a good battery. There was a ton on crap inside and the brushes were stuck in their sliders and were badly worn. I also greased the bearings that were dry. This has made a huge difference..
